Wal-Mart Sustainable Packaging Guidelines

In an effort to improve the company's image and effect positive change, Wal-Mart has recently begun taking steps to move towards a more sustainable packaging regime.  In addition to moving some products under its own brand name to biodegradable PLA packaging, the retail giant has begun issuing memos to its vendors on ways that they should be increasing the efficiency of their own packaging.  These guidelines are still suggestions at this point, but it is reasonable to expect that many of them will be become requirements in the near future as customers demand ever higher standards of sustainability from the products they buy.  See the latest memo here.
